Story: Kate (Sandra Bullock) is a doctor and Alex (Keanu Reeves) is an architect. Kate is living in the year 2006 and Alex is living in the year 2004. In 2006, Kate left The Lake House and put a letter in her mailbox. Alex gets that letter in 2004 in the mailbox of The Lake House. The mailbox is the only means through which they are connected to each other. They exchange letters regularly. Visualizing the story will make the things more clear:-
The Blue line denotes the period when they both didn’t know each other. The Pink line denotes the period when Alex got the first letter from Kate. So, Alex has known Kate since 2004. The Green line denotes the period when Kate mailed the first letter while leaving The Lake House. So, Kate has known Alex since 2006. Time Difference = 2 years. After 2008, both will know each other, and if they meet, their real relationship will kick off.
But in 2008, Kate got the news from Alex’s younger brother that Alex died some time back in 2006. Can Kate save her love???
